Welcome New Ku-ring-gai Resident Project
An Invitation to New Residents in our area to Visit our Club
During February 2014 a quantity of letters were distributed to Real Estate agents and the Ku-ring-gai 'Welcome Basket' program (Rachel Wilson. website: www.welcomebasket.com.au), for distribution to new residents in our community inviting them to visit our club. At least one real estate agent refers new residents to the Welcome Basket program, which is also sponsored by the Council.

The text of the letter:
Welcome to Ku-ring-gai!
Members of the Rotary Club of Ku-ring-gai extend a very warm welcome to you as a new resident in our community.
We are a service organisation involved in local and worldwide projects. Examples:
- Helping build a school in Uganda,
- Assisting in providing relief shelters for the victims of the Philippines typhoon and the Blue Mountains Bushfires,
- Helping the local special school in Hornsby
- Helping to save lives locally by being a major sponsor of Lifeline.
We are also very much a social club. Apart from our weekly meetings, we enjoy
- getting together for a movie or theatre evening,
- having a meal at a restaurant, and
- playing golf or tennis or cycling.
Being part of Rotary is a great way to not only put something back into your community; it is a great way to meet people in your community and network.
We have dinner meetings on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8.30 pm at the West Pymble Bicentennial Club. Apart from discussing club business, we have interesting after dinner speakers most nights.
We enjoy having fun while contributing our skills to service, subject to each member’s available time. The success of our projects is largely due to the combined strength of our members through their varied range of skills, backgrounds and nationalities. You could help us do more!
To learn more about our Rotary club, why don’t you join us one Monday evening? We will provide you and a guest with a 2 course meal at our expense for your first visit. Just contact Bob on 9418-1865 before noon on the day you wish to attend, so we can arrange for the catering.

We look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely
On behalf of members of the Rotary Club of Ku-ring-gai Inc.
