Dom's Place is located at 9 Leonard Street, Hornsby, NSW, Australia
Dom's Facebook Page
Dom’s Place was opened in April 2022.
Dom's Place operates as a ‘one-stop-shop,’ an inclusive space where people can feel safe and connected. Some people may pop in to get a meal, wash their clothes and chat with a social worker to address housing needs. Others come and play a game of pool, use the computers, and connect with employment pathways. Case management, counselling, and mental health supports are available, as well as referrals to other services as needed. Other local services also operate from Dom’s Place including legal, housing, Centrelink, and financial services.
People do not need a referral to come to Dom’s Place and can access it or as long as they would like.
One of the popular activities is the Friday Pool competition followed by a BBQ lunch. This enables clients to socialise and support each other as most clients spend their weekends alone and may not speak to someone again until Dom’s Place opens again on Monday.
Ku-ring-gai Rotary, in consultation with the Practice Manager, identified that a priority need for Dom’s Place was a new Pool Table and subsequently donated a Pool Table to Dom’s Place in March 2025. This was a highly appreciated donation from the staff and clients.
Dom’s Place relies solely on fundraising as we are not funded by the government to provide this service. It welcomes around 100-150 visits a week & 6000 visits a year. 99% of people who have come to Dom’s have come back.
