These projects support and encourage young people and others in our local community, by 

  • sponsoring attendees at programs that improve life skills
  • encouraging and supporting achievers
  • recognising Pride of Workmanship in local business
  • sponsoring attendees at youth leadership & education programs

 

Awards to local high schools

Our club's 'Benefic Award' is an annual award we present to one Year 9 student at Turramurra, Ku-ring-gai Creative Arts and Killara High Schools who displays "a favourable influence" amongst their peers.

Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)

High school students develop an awareness of the United Nations and the countries they represent at this simulated UN Assembly. They address and debate problems and issues of international concern. Clubs sponsor teams from high schools who each represent a UN country.

National Youth Science Forum

We sponsor local Year 11 students to attend this annual 12 day residential program held in Canberra in January, designed to give students a broader understanding of the diverse study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to encourage them to continue their studies in these fields. Pride of Workmanship

PofWShield LGEThe Pride of Workmanship Award project gives local businesses the opportunity to nominate a special employee for public recognition of their outstanding qualities in terms of approach, attitude, dedication and commitment to his/her job and therefore stands out as a successful achiever. It is intended to cover all aspects of work performance including ethics, quality and quantity of output, safety, initiative, sense of responsibility, etc.

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment

RYPEN225Students, mostly from Years 9 and 10 attend a weekend camp designed to develop their potential through a mixture of team-building sessions and adventure- based learning. The aim is to increase motivation, improve life skills, self-image, pride in themselves and an understanding of setting and achieving goals.
