'The Bookshop' - Cinema Night Wed 30 May 18

'The Bookshop' - Cinema Night Wed 30 May 18
"Bill Nighy, Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson star in Isabel Coixet's adaption of Penelope Fitzgerald's 1978 novel about a women's struggles to bring a bit of literary culture to an East Anglia English village. A town that badly needs it.
A stereotypical English film, with subversive undercurrents embodied in the fine performances of these actors makes it a really interesting film.
As romances go this is so exquisitely restrained that it makes 'Brief Encounter' look like 'Debbie Does Dallas.'
